Center Theatre and PRYMCA offer theatre camp

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Center Theatre and Piscataquis Regional YMCA are joining forces to offer area children a February Vacation Theater Camp.

The February Vacation Theater Camp will run from Monday, Feb. 15 through Friday, Feb. 19. The camp will start each morning at the Center Theatre where the kids will work on a theater performance to be shown to the public on Saturday, the 20th. After lunch, the kids will go to the PRYMCA to spend the afternoon playing games, swimming in the pool and staying active.

“It’s a wonderful program that combines the strengths of both organizations,” said Patrick Myers, executive director of the Center Theatre.

Rod Willey, executive director of the PRYMCA is also looking forward to the program, “It’s good for the community when area organizations can collaborate to create something new,” he said. “We’re both certainly looking forward to similar collaborations in the future.”

The February Vacation Theater Camp is open for any child in grades 1-8. Scholarships are available for those with financial need. Besides the theatre camp, the PRYMCA is also offering full day and part-day adventure camp throughout February vacation.
