PRYMCA Waves swim at Kennebec Valley YMCA

AUGUSTA — The Piscataquis Regional YMCA Waves swim team traveled to on Dec. 19 to face the Stingrays swim team. The Waves team members swam well and individual swimmers turned in very strong performances.

Waves swimmers turning in first-place finishes were Carter Coy in the 25 freestyle and 25 backstroke; Triston Green in the 50 and 100 free; Avery Carroll in the 100 free and 100 back; and Alicia London in the 50 back.

Gage Beaudry, Leora Brochu, Dylan Coy, Sam Gidman, Alicia London, Olivia McCorrison, Lilley Povak, Eli Swanson, Hannah Vail, Amy Waugh, Chloe Waugh and Meriel Willey all had best times at the meet.

The “Biggest Loser” of the meet was London, who took a combined total of 31.1 seconds off her 50 free and 50 back times. Runner-up for this award was Swanson who took a combined total of 12.39 seconds off his 50 free and 50 back times.

The “Biggest Loser” for a single event was Vail who took 6.93 seconds off her 50 fly time; and the runner-up was Waugh with 4.79 seconds off her time in the 100 breaststroke.
