FA swimming splits at Old Town

OLD TOWN — The Foxcroft Academy swim team split a dual meet on the road against Old Town High School on Dec. 11, with the Pony girls winning 89-72 and the Foxcroft boys falling by a score of 105-22.

Winning events for Foxcroft was the 200 medley relay team (Avery Carroll, Gabie Johnson, Jenna Clukey and Alice Russo) in a time of 2 minutes, 04.82 seconds; Carroll in the 200 freestyle at 2:16.42; Clukey in the 50 free at 27.14 seconds; Carroll in the 100 fly at 1:10.05; Elena Russo in the 100 free at 1:03.33; Clukey in the 500 free at 5:57.38; Alice Russo in the 100 back at 1:08.57; Johnson in the 100 breast at 1:15.96; and the 400 free relay (Clukey, Madison Fadley, Johnson and Carroll) at 4:08.59.

Second places: 200 IM Fadley 2:52.69; 50 free Johnson 27.95; 100 free Fadley 1:09.59; 200 free relay (Elena Russo, Abby Henderson, Fadley and Alice Russo) 2:00.82; 100 back Elena Russo 1:08.58; and 100 breast Henderson 1:34.55.

Other swimmers: Waugh third 100 back 1:17.21 and fourth 200 free 2:31.22; Alice Russo fifth 50 free 29.68; and 100 free Henderson 1:12.23.

In the boys’ competition, Pedro Bastos was second in the 50 free at 28.76 seconds. David Salley, Bastos, Owen Booker and Andy Yu combined to place second in the 200 free relay at 2:04.57. The 400 free relay (Salley, Botai Zhou, Tanner Strout and Yu) finished second at 4:29.54.

Zhou was third in the 100 breast at 1:23.46, and Bastos placed fourth in the 100 free at 1:06.66. Salley came in fifth in the 50 and 100 free at 31.53 seconds and 1:13.40.

Also swimming was the B 200 free relay team and Jason Thompson, Nathaniel Skomars, Strout and Hunter Giacomuzzi combined for a time of 2:27.02.
