Christmas Bird Count

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The 32nd annual Christmas Bird Count of the Dover-Foxcroft area will be held on Monday, Dec. 21 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anyone wishing to be a field observer is asked to contact Charles Dorchester -at 884-8322. Field observers will meet at McDonald’s at 7 a.m. to be assigned count areas.

Another important group of observers are the feeder observers, who keep watch over their backyard birds on the Count Day — Dec. 21. They will report the species and numbers they see to Ruth French at 564-7434 after 4 p.m.

The annual Christmas Bird Count is sponsored by the National Audubon Society and has been held nationwide since 1900.
