Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at Union Square in Dover-Foxcroft via fire truck and the Festival of Lights parade as part of the annual Hometown Holidays celebration on Dec. 5. Santa led the countdown from 10 to one to turn the Union Square tree lights on with a twitch of his nose to kick off the holiday season.

Santa and Mrs. Claus then went inside the fire station to visit with children and hear what the good boys and girls hoped to find in their stockings and under the tree. Hometown Holidays featured events for all ages in several of the region’s communities over the weekend.
