Murray a ‘Rising Star’ at UMaine
ORONO — Amber Murray, a resident of Dover-Foxcroft and freshman on the University of Maine women’s swim team, has been named a Rising Star for her academic performance during her first semester of college.
The university announced that Murray is one of 85 first-year student-athletes who were scheduled to be honored as Rising Stars, for having attained a GPA of 3.0 or better during their first college semester, during the Scholar-Athlete Recognition ceremony on March 25.
A graduate of Foxcroft Academy, Murray is the daughter of Cathalina and Tom Murray. She is majoring in food science and human nutrition at the University of Maine.
