FA scramble sets records

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Foxcroft Academy’s 23rd annual Homecoming Golf Scramble was one for the record books. Thanks to 84 participants and a record-setting 48 sponsors, Foxcroft Academy was able to raise an all-time best $9,000 for the Horizon Scholarship program.

The Foxcroft Academy Horizon Scholarship program was founded in 1992 to provide students with learning opportunities beyond the walls of the school. Since 1992, more than $123,000 in educational scholarships has been awarded to more than 200 students, thanks to the Horizon Scholarship program. This past summer, students travelled anywhere from Orono to Costa Rica to participate in programs ranging in topic from music to turtle conservation.

Foxcroft Academy wishes to sincerely thank all those who participated, the Horizon Golf Scramble Committee — Ethan Annis ’03, Danny White ’03, Cathy Hall, Anthony Phillips ’79, Bobbie Nickerson ’92, Peter Chase ’79, Chris McGary and Cory Campbell ’75 — and the 48 generous sponsors for making this year’s tournament the most successful in history.

At the 2015 Homecoming Golf Scramble at the Foxcroft Golf Club on Aug. 1, Team Cory Campbell fired a 28 (-8) to post the best overall score at the nine-hole scramble. Team Peter Chase (-6) and Team Sincyr/Curran (-5) rounded out the top three teams.
