Brownville Days returns on Saturday, Aug. 15
BROWNVILLE — Brownville Days returns for the first time since 2010 with a day of events on Saturday, Aug. 15, under a theme of “Mardi Gras”
The day starts with breakfast at the Brownville Community Church from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m.

BROWNVILLE DAYS PARADE — Brownville Days returns for the first time in five years with a day of events scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 15. A community parade begins at 10 a.m., traveling from Jones Airport on Route 11 north to Railroad Avenue in the Junction.
A co-ed adult softball tourney throughout the day starts at Davis Field at 8 a.m. Pre-registration and entrance fees are required for participating teams, and those interested should contact Brownville Recreation Director Crystal Cail at 974-7886. The snack shack will be open for snacks and lunch to benefit Brownville recreation programming.
The Monday Morning Quilters’ annual show takes place at the Brownville Junction United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with lunch served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The vendor area along Railroad Avenue near the fire station opens at 9 a.m., and is scheduled to end at 2 p.m. Vendors are encouraged to decorate for Mardi Gras.
The bounce house and kids games under the tent are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with activities, face painting, coloring and more.
The community parade starts at 10 a.m. The 2015 grand marshall will lead the procession starting at Jones Airport on Route 11, 1204 Main Road, and ending on Railroad Avenue. Lineup begins at 9 a.m. and participants will be entered into a random $100 prize drawing.
The Brownville Brownie Bake Off at the Junction fire station starts at 1 p.m. Participants should submit their brownies by 12:30 p.m. with the taste test taking place shortly after 1 p.m. for the winning treat to be announced.
The free fun park at the Junction Entertainment Park, 197 Davis Street, opens at 2 p.m. with antique cars, karaoke, children’s games and more. The fun park is set to run through 7 p.m.
“Junction Express” take to the stage at the Junction Entertainment Park at 8 p.m. A fireworks display by Central Maine Pyrotechnics is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. at the the park.

MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT — Members of the Belvin family sang karaoke as they rode along the parade route during the 2010 Brownville Days. On Aug, 15 the Junction Entertainment Park will host a fun park starting at 2 p.m., Junction Express in concert at 8 p.m. and then a Central Maine Pyrotechnics fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.
