East falls in Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl

BIDDEFORD —  After a week of training camp at their home facilities, two Foxcroft Academy players and head coach Danny White represented the Ponies as part of the East squad at the 26th Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl on July 18 at Biddeford High School.

Peter Boyer and Clay Carroll played on the gridiron and White was a part of the coaching staff in the game, won by the West 45-21. The West now leads 18-8 in the Lobster Bowl standings, but the East had won the 2014 and 2013 contests and four of six games heading into Saturday night.

The Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl pits the top football seniors from Classes A, B, C and D from eastern Maine against their counterparts from the western half of the state to benefit the Shriner Hospitals for Children across North America. These facilities provide expert orthopedic and burn care, at no cost, to children in desperate need of this specialized care.

The Lobster Bowl participants are all recent high school graduates. They are nominated to play in the prestigious game by their coaches and selected by a committee. For more information, please go to www.korashriners.org/lobsterbowl.
