D-F Historical Society summer happenings

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Observer Building located in Union Square is now open for summer hours, every  Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Labor Day, with a special opening for Homecoming  on Aug. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. As always, special tours are available by calling Mary Annis at 564­-0820, Chris Maas at 924­-4553 or Dennis Lyford at 564­-3371.

The Blacksmith Shop at 107 Dawes Road is now open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. through October. The Dunham Forge, located next to the Blacksmith Shop will have guest blacksmiths demonstrating their craft. The schedule is as follows: July 18 – Peter Polichak from Dexter 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; July 25 – Jan Tricarico from Winthrop 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ; Aug. 1 – John Calderwood from Etna 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Aug. 8 – Matt Griffith from Parkman 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Aug. 15 – Dwight King from Orrington 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Aug. 22 – Peter Polichak from Dexter 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ;Sept. 12 – Pat Roy from Belfast 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Sept. 19 – Dwight King from Orrington 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
