PRYMCA hires new executive director

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Board of Directors of the Piscataquis Regional YMCA have announced that they have hired Rod Willey as the Y’s new executive director. Willey comes to the Y from the Charlotte White Center where he has served in various capacities for the past 18 years. Willey will officially begin at the Y on July 27.

“I am looking forward to joining the team at the Y,” Willey stated. “I’m thankful that I’ve been able to spend so many years at the Charlotte White Center and am excited to join the Y and support their work of serving our community’s health and wellness needs.”

Willey started at the Charlotte White Center as a direct care worker and advanced in the organization, ultimately becoming the senior program director. His focus on service and inclusion were important factors in being selected as the Y’s executive director.

“While Rod does not come from a Y background, he very much embodies the Y’s values.” said PRYMCA Board Chair Ernie Thomas. “Rod’s people-centered attitude along with his extensive management and executive experience make him ideal to lead the Y.”

While Willey will not officially start until July 27, the Y is inviting the community to the annual meeting on July 15 at 5 p.m. Willey will be present and it will be a chance to meet him and learn about the Y’s plans for the coming year.

The Piscataquis Regional YMCA is a cause-driven organization that is committed to the community and dedicated to promoting healthy spirit, mind, and body for all, through programs and services grounded in Christian heritage and the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
