 LEGION EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR — Alan Cartwright of Greenville received the American Legion Department of Maine Educator of the Year award at the annual state convention in Bangor last month. The award was presented by State Legion Vice-Commander Pete Johnson of Greenville. Pictured, from left, are Johnson; Cartwright’s wife, Cory Olson; Cartwright and nephew Colter Olson. The award is presented annually to an educator who demonstrates outstanding skills in the development of the youth of Maine. Cartwright teaches high school English at Greenville Consolidated School and mentors students in speech and advance placement English courses.
