Milo Free Public Library June news

By Rochelle Williams

MILO — We at the Milo library have started preparing for the upcoming children’s summer reading program and the theme this year is “Every Hero Has A Stor.”  Sign-up week is June 15-19 and the program is from June 22  to July 24.  A volunteer has been helping with making posters and getting them to the local elementary schools, along with information for the parents about the program.

We applied for and received a $300 grant from the Samuel and Rose Rudman Trust. The fund has greatly helped towards the purchase of books related to the theme. I wish to thank our volunteer and the Maine Community Foundation.

Kathy’s June theme pick is “Wedding Bells”.  This display features a variety of authors and titles that relate to weddings, of course. It is, after all, that time of year.

Ongoing book sale; there have been many more books added to our books for sale. Paperbacks are still 10 cents and hardbacks are 25 cents or five for $1  Who can beat that price?

Questions, call 943-2612 or email us at milolibrary@trcmaine.org. Summer hours are in effect, Monday, Wednesday and Friday 1-7 p.m.
