Film Festival’s Aging in Maine Tour coming to Center Theatre

DOVER-FOXCROFT — On Sunday, May 31, four short films about aging will be shown free of charge at Center Theatre in at 2 p.m. Piscataquis County is officially on the Camden International Film Festival’s Aging in Maine tour schedule this year. For information about other screenings throughout the state, visit www.camdenfilmfest.org.

The Piscataquis Thriving in Place Collaborative is sponsoring the May 31 screening and has selected four films that address issues fundamental to aging, including driving, independence and dementia care. With so much media concentration on the demographics of aging, the economic impact of caregiving, and the prevalence of age-related conditions, the actual experiences of older people may be overlooked. These documentary films reveal the poignant personal struggles and opportunities that come with growing older. Viewers of all ages will surely get fresh perspectives on a very old subject.
