The Piscataquis Council Soil and Water Conservation District recently participated in a Conservation District Day at the Hall of Flags in Augusta. Sen. Paul Davis and several other lawmakers visited with district staff to discuss pertinent issues and concerns. Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District Executive Director Joanna Tarrazi, spoke with Davis and Representatives Larry Dunphy, Norm Higgins and Paul Stearns about sustainable natural resource conservation initiatives in Piscataquis County. As the PCSWCD serves the same constituents as our elected officials, they also discussed the importance of partnerships to implement technical assistance with landowners, businesses and municipalities.
