MaineCF awards $211K in journalism scholarships
The Maine Community Foundation’s Guy P. Gannett Journalism Scholarship Fund has awarded $211,000 in scholarships to 21 students studying journalism at the undergraduate or graduate level.
The Gannett Scholarship provides support for students majoring in journalism or a related field and helps pay tuition for undergraduate or graduate studies.
This year’s Gannett Scholarship recipients are: Ashley Allen, Yarmouth: Endicott College; Ella Anderson, Long Island: New York University; Ryan Bell, Palmyra: Syracuse University; Iselin Bratz, Camden: Emerson College; Skylar Cummings, Portland: University of Montana; Emma Gaecklein, Searsport: Marist College; Cally Gudroe, Garland: University of New England; Nola Goodwin, Turner: Georgetown University; Isabelle Hamann, Monmouth: University of Southern California; Sophia Labbe, Vassalboro: Lasell University; Megan Lachance, Minot: Franklin Pierce University; Sophia Landrum, Brooklin: University of Chicago; Quinn McPherson, Kittery: Boston University; Freyja Pacheco, Portland: Fordham University; Cole Purvis, Saco: Syracuse University; Hailey Rondeau, Westbrook: Southern Maine Community College; Moira Sankey, Surry: Wheaton College; Elijah St. Louis, Falmouth: University of Virgin Islands; Amber Stone, Farmington: University of Southern Maine; Sandy Tomasco, Winslow: University of Maine at Presque Isle; and Cali Warren, Brooks: University of Maine.
A volunteer review committee selected the students based on demonstrated interest in journalism, excellence in academic performance and financial need. The application for the 2025 Gannett Scholarship will open in January. For more information, visit www.mainecf.org/scholarships.
