Camden Shakespeare Festival returns to Monson
MONSON — Camden Shakespeare Festival, Monson Arts, and The Center Theatre will present Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors†outdoors in Monson on Saturday, July 27 at 2 p.m. (the rain date is Sunday, July 28 at 2 p.m.). Perhaps Shakespeare’s least Shakespearean play, “The Comedy of Errors†is a hilarious farce about two twins who end up in the same town, each unaware of the other.
“This show has a lot of music, singing, clowning, and funny business. It is probably Shakespeare’s most fun show to perform, and least Shakespearean,†says Director Stephen Legawiec. “This play has it all: madcap comedy, mistaken identity, seduction, slapstick, bad puns, and a family reunion beyond belief. No play contains more comedy, or more errors!â€
Attendees should plan to bring blankets or camp chairs to enjoy the play which will be presented outdoors behind Tenney House, 47 Tenney Hill Road. Tickets are only $14 for the public and $8 for kids 14 and under and $12 for members of the Center Theatre. For tickets and more information, visit www.CenterTheatre.org or call the Center Theatre at 207-564-8943. Tickets will also be available at the door.
