PVC JV track championship results

BREWER — Athletes from four area high schools took part in the 2024 Penobscot Valley Conference junior varsity outdoor track and field championship on May 21 at the Brewer Community School.

Piscataquis Community High School sophomore Chase Kilian had the day’s top time in the 300-meter hurdles as he won in 53.49 seconds.

PCHS’ Phoenix Brown came in third in the 200 at 26.89 seconds.

Pirate senior Parker Kelley had a fifth-place performance in the triple jump at 32 feet, 6.5 inches and he was sixth in the javelin at 105-07.

Timothy Macneil of PCHS came in sixth in the shot put standings with his throw of 33-08.

Foxcroft Academy junior Khoa Ho won the 200 in a time of 26.68 seconds.

In the 400 Pony junior John Seo and freshman Carter Straehle were seventh and ninth with respective times of 1:04.26 and 1:09.04.

Dexter Regional High School sophomore Deaken Cousins had his school’s highest individual boys performance

by coming in third in the 100-meter finals at 12.83 seconds. He also placed fourth in the 200 at 26.98 seconds.

Tigers freshman Brodie Gorin came in fourth in the 800 at 2:19.52.

Dexter sophomore Ezekial Bermudez was eighth in the 1,600 in 5:27.56.

For the Penquis Valley High School boys, freshman Donovan McEwen finished as the 200-meter runner-up with his time of 26.77 seconds.

Joe Haffenreffer came in fourth in the javelin with his throw measuring 108-11.

Patriot sophomore Ethan Lewis had a fifth-place finish in the 800 at 2:20.48.

Junior Nikolai Galipeau came in seventh in the discus at 87-08.

In the girls’ meet, Penquis freshman Violet Chai placed second in the 100-meter finals with her time of 14.71 seconds. She also was sixth in the long jump at 12-08.50.

Senior Layla Chai came in fourth in the 200 at 31.64 seconds.

Junior Lily Coons had a sixth-place throw in the javelin at 65-05.

Patriot junior Naima Ali’s throw of 63-08 in the discus was good for seventh place.

PCHS freshman Haille Marshall finished fifth in the 200 at 31.81 seconds.

Pirate freshman Emma Folsom was eighth in the shot put at distance of 23-08.

For Foxcroft Academy, junior Nina Huber came in sixth in the 800 at 2:58.46.

The Ponies also had seventh- and ninth-place long jump performances from junior Margaret Clark at 12-06.25 and sophomore Lillian Makowski at 12-5.50.
