Theriault launches Maine Small Business Showcase tour in Piscataquis County
Austin Theriault, R-Fort Kent t kicked off his 11-county Maine Small Business Showcase tour in Piscataquis County on May 14.
“I’m running because rural working Mainers are getting left behind, and they deserve a fighter in Congress,” Theriault said. “Piscataquis County is full of entrepreneurs and employees who are just trying to make a living, and I’m on their side. I’m from a small business family and a small business owner myself, and I can tell you that Jared Golden and Joe Biden are not helping the working man. Higher taxes, more regulations, sending taxpayer money to China — those are Golden policies that I oppose. I’m doing this tour to showcase great Maine businesses and talk about how we can grow rural Maine’s economy, so I hope to see folks at stops in the future.”
During the Piscataquis County tour, Theriault stopped by Dove Tail Bat Company in Shirley, Abbot Village Barber Shop, Red Maple Inn of Guilford, Guilford Motor Company, Colbry Enterprises Autobody in Dover-Foxcroft, Rowell’s Garage and Car Wash of Dover-Foxcroft, and the Big Pine Gun Club in Guilford.
During the tour, Theriault is visiting family businesses around each of Maine’s 11 District 2 counties.
Theriault hails from an Aroostook County logging, trucking, and farming family. He has owned and operated his own small business in the racing industry for almost 15 years, since he was 16 years old.
“It was inspiring to see Washington and Piscataquis County businesses fighting against the economic headwinds created by DC politicians,” Theriault said, mentioning his tour in Washington County. “I heard one message loud and clear across hundreds of miles of Maine this week: it’s time for change in Congress.”
