Twenty-eight runners and more than 40 walkers disregarded brutally cold conditions to participate in Foxcroft Academy’s third annual Reindeer 5K Run and Walk on, Dec. 7.

This year’s event was a Division 2 Key Club Project, with six Key Clubs — Foxcroft Academy, Greenville High School, Dexter Regional High School, Nokomis Regional High School, Piscataquis Community High School and Penquis Valley High School — working together to raise approximately $1,100 for Community Santa Projects. “It was great to see all of the Key Clubs of Division 2 bond together and work towards a common goal of helping children who are less fortunate have a Christmas,” said George Rolleston, Foxcroft Academy Key Club advisor. Foxcroft junior Gabe Piquette paced the runners with an impressive time of 19:47 while Heather Gudroe was the fastest female at 23:22.
