Bozzelli to represent Foxcroft Academy at Maine Youth Leadership Seminar

lo-bozzellimug-dcX-po-50    DOVER-FOXCROFT — Foxcroft Academy sophomore Camille Bozzelli has been selected as this year’s nominee for the 2015 Maine Youth Leadership Seminar, which will be held at the University of Southern Maine campus in Gorham from May 28-31. Each spring, Maine Youth Leadership (MYL) invites one sophomore ambassador from every Maine public and private high school to participate in the seminar. Bozzelli was selected as FA’s representative based on the strength of her application essay.

Bozzelli is very active within both the Foxcroft Academy music and theater programs, and as a freshman she earned awards for her solo at the state jazz band competition and for her role in the one-act play “Rabbits in the Garden” at the regional drama festival. She also enjoys studying new languages and is currently enrolled in an independent study to learn American Sign Language, is the secretary of Key Club and is a member of the football and basketball cheerleading squad.
Grace Bickford was chosen as this year’s alternate. MYL representatives from Foxcroft Academy in recent years include Madison Fadley (2014), Clay Carroll (2013), Sam Keane (2012), Atticus Dennis (2011), Josh Bombero (also in 2011) and Jeremiah Henderson (2010).
Since 1980, MYL has worked with Maine youth to seek out, recognize, and develop their leadership skills. The organization’s goal is to “motivate Maine’s future leaders and create a network of civic-minded students who will better their communities through volunteering.” MYL provides programs that “encourage and assist students at critical times in their quest for self-identification and development,” while also setting up “give-and-take discussions with thought leaders and role models from across Maine society.”
