Hewitt honored by Aflac

GUILFORD — Stephanie Hewitt of Guilford has been awarded as a ME/NH/MASS Aflac Agent of Care. Hewitt is the epitome of the term “other centered.” She is a 16-year Aflac veteran, with an impeccable record of serving her clients to the fullest extent possible. That said, the work she does in her small community is above and beyond the realm of normal including:

Hewitt was a lead volunteer and corporate marketing coordinator for the nonprofit Window Dressers. Window Dressers create/supplies fashionable coverings for old drafty windows keeping the heat in and cold out for folks in low-income situations or the elderly that just can’t afford the cost of replacing their windows.

She developed the Corporate Donor Program by soliciting local business with a “sales” packet she put together. Now the program has taken off over the last few years with more and more companies getting involved, both with financial donations and teams of people to install the window coverings. This has grown into a great community type effort, and is officially sponsored by Efficiency Maine, a state funded program. Hewitt also does all the marketing creation, and advertising for the program

Hewitt has been elected to three terms on the SAD 4 School Board. She also serves on the policy committee, transportation, building & grounds committee, curriculum committee, and student/parent/personnel communications committee.

She represents SAD 4 on the Piscataquis Valley Adult Education Cooperative board, working with community and businesses with the other members of the team to bring opportunities where those of all ages and availability of resources can choose to learn all the same.

A member of the Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce for seven years, Hewitt actively attends and contributes to all events she can. She is a member and attendee of the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council. 

Hewitt volunteers with the Center Theatre with in-person marketing of shows and auditions to local businesses and schools, hangs flyers, and develops displays. She is a director of the Lily Bay Islands Maintenance Corporation, essentially an HOA but for property owners on Lily Bay Islands of Tussle Lagoon.

With a Behavioral Health Professional Certification, Hewitt works with autistic, physically, or mentally impaired/disabled, mental health trauma, impoverished, abused individuals and their families and with local law enforcement.
