CMP announces lower delivery rates in 2024

AUGUSTA — Central Maine Power announced a new rate decrease due to a change in the company’s electricity transmission rates. The new rate, which takes effect on Jan. 1, will lower prices for the average CMP residential customer by approximately 4 percent.

For customers who use the Standard Offer, this announcement is in addition to the 35 percent decrease to the supply portion of a customer’s electric bill. CMP strongly supported this recent announcement by the Maine PUC.

“As the cost of everything else around us continues to go up, this decrease in both supply and delivery rates is excellent news for our customers,” said Jon Breed, spokesperson for CMP. “Combined, these decreases will save the average CMP Standard Offer customer around $35 per month, or $210 over the next six months.”
