Tiger wrestling finishes eighth at Belfast Invitational

BELFAST – The Dexter Regional High School wrestling team opened the 2023-24 regular season at the 2023 Belfast Invitational on Dec. 9 at Belfast Area High School. The Tigers finished with a score of 73 points to place eighth among 15 teams.

Four Dexter grapplers reached the consolation finals with a pair coming in third place in their weight places.

At 126 pounds Matt Severance earned a pinfall victory over Matthew Denlinger of Class A Oxford Hills High School at the 2:46-mark. In the 138-pound class, Damair Miller won his consolation final vs. Remi Cauthier of Mountain Valley High School of Rumford via pinfall at the 3:17-mark.

Garrett Tibbetts and Quentin Rich both reached the consolation finals, at 120 and 175 pounds respectively.
