Maine FH Association All-State selections

A pair of players from both Dexter Regional High School and Foxcroft Academy have received All-State honors from the Maine Field Hockey Association. Earning the accolade is Dexter senior Peyton Watson and junior Katie Batron, and Foxcroft seniors Julia Annis and Elizabeth Fern Morrison.

All-state criteria includes: performs consistently at a high skill level; possesses leadership on and off the field; exhibits excellent sportsmanship; and is dedicated to the game of field hockey. Over 80 players in Classes A, B and C from across Maine were named to the All-State team.
Each varsity coach is able to nominate up to three players from their own team for this award. The nominees are then voted on by all varsity coaches in the state — each coach may vote for up to 11 players, not including their own.
Annis and Morrison both were also named to the Maine Field Hockey Association Academic All-State team, joining a little more than 30 players from all three of Maine’s classes.
Varsity coaches may nominate any senior athletes from their team that meet the following criteria: the athlete must rank in the top 10 percent of her class and have a GPA of 97 or higher for three years; must be a current member of the varsity team and must have been a part of the team for two years; must have made a significant contribution to the team this year; and they must be a senior and of good moral character.
