FA’s Jarrett finishes sixth at PVC X-C championship

ELLSWORTH — Foxcroft Academy junior Runner Jarrett came in sixth among Class C runners and the Pony boys were seventh in the team standings during the 2023 Penobscot Valley Conference cross country championship on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Ellsworth High School.

Jarrett covered the 5K course in a time of 16 minutes 58.22 seconds to place sixth among a field of 75 Class C runners (his sub-17:00 also surpassed those of all 39 Class B runners).

Foxcroft’s 175 points was good for seventh among 10 Class C teams, ahead of the 207 points for Washington Academy of East Machias and behind the 159 points for sixth-place Narraguagus of Harrington.

Foxcroft freshman Pace Jarrett came in 26th at 18:37.37 to be the second Pony to cross the finish line. Senior Zachary Peirce was 41st at 20:33.02, and sophomore John Seo placed 52nd in 21:52.84. Freshman Davi Kim rounded out the Pony five with his time of 24:53.43 and 65th-place finish.

Piscataquis Community High School senior Jorgen Halvorsen ran in the Class C race and he came in 49th with a time of 21:32.50.

Foxcroft sophomore Quen Pham took part in the girls Class C race as she was 41st of 51 entrants with her time of 29:42.34.

Pony senior Taylor Pahlavan was among those in the girls JV race as she was 25th in a field of 31 in 30:51.54.
