Piquette and Stauch run at state X-C meets
BELFAST — Two runners from the area took part in their respective state cross country championships on Nov. 1 at Troy Howard Middle School, one week after placing in the top 30 at the regional finals held on the same course.
In the Class B state meet Foxcroft Academy junior Gabe Piquette covered the five kilometers (3.1 miles) in 19 minutes, 7.39 seconds. Piquette finished in 74th place out of a field of 115.
Dexter Regional High School freshman William Stauch ran in the Class C state championship. Stauch had a time of 19:22.71, to finish 60th out of 90 runners.
