Wintle has reservations about E-W highway and charter questions

Alan Wintle, who lost his re-election bid last year, said he’s anxious to get back on the Dexter Town Council because of his concerns about taxes and road conditions.

He also said that he has reservations about the East-West highway moratorium question. “Anything that would bring business in would be helpful. I think it would be wise to investigate it (the highway) and give it some breathing room,” Wintle said.
Wintle also served on the Charter Commission and said he wasn’t happy with the results, but accepts them. “The idea of the new charter was to clean up some redundancies, but I think some things were changed that didn’t need to be,” said Wintle, a corrections officer at the Piscataquis County jail. “But it’s an improvement over the old one.”
