Piscataquis County EMA presents a Radio Rodeo

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscatauqis County Emergency Management Agency presents a Radio Rodeo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12 at the Piscataquis Valley Fairgrounds, 77 Fairview Avenue.

Piscataquis County EMA invites the public to a day of learning and fun at the fairgrounds. There will be communication trailers, ham radio demonstrations and agencies from around the county  and state. There will be a Touch-a-Truck event, pictures with firefighters, police and EMTs, a canned food drive, and much more.

The Radio Rodeo is free to the public, but the fairgrounds committee will be collecting donations at the gate and 100 percent of the donations will go to the fairgrounds. There will be a canned food drive to support the Piscataquis Region Food Center, CMP will have a demonstration area, and T-Mobile will have a booth.

Seven counties in the state will be participating with their mobile communication trailers. There will also be a HAM demonstration with several groups participating and much more.

There also will be a Patriots raffle package, $2 per ticket, $5 for three tickets and you don’t have to be present to win. All proceeds from the raffle will go to the Veterans Project.
