Annual Moosehead Lake Kiwanis Auction has new location this year

GREENVILLE JUNCTION — The Moosehead Lake Kiwanis Club will be holding its annual auction on Sunday, Aug. 13.

This popular event will be at Woody’s in the Industrial Park in Greenville Junction which is a new location this year. Returning will be auctioneer Harold Holmes of Skowhegan who always leads a fun auction. The auction begins at 10 a.m.  A yard sale will be outside the venue and will begin at 8 a.m.

The money raised at the auction helps the Moosehead Lake Kiwanis Club fulfill its mission to improve the lives of children and our community. The club supports organizations such as Northern Light CA Dean Hospital, Pine Tree Hospice, and Sarah’s Cancer Hospitality House, as well as providing gas cards to patients who must travel to receive treatments. In addition, the club delivers Christmas baskets for families in need and shut-ins, and the club prepares supplemental food for school children through its backpack program.

The Moosehead Lake Kiwanis Club also supports the Greenville High School Key Club, provides numerous scholarships: graduating seniors, scholarships for other students who exemplify the mission of community service, and scholarships to summer programs such as the drama camp and a field trip to the Challenger Learning Center in Bangor.

This auction has been successful thanks to the generosity of our neighbors and area businesses. Anyone wishing to donate to the auction, the club will be accepting donations at Woody’s (2 Industrial Park) in Greenville Junction on Aug. 7 and 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. and on Aug. 8 from 5-7 p.m.

Due to more limited space than usual at the new location this year, the club cannot take large furniture, upholstered furniture or electronic appliances/devices.

Monetary donations may be mailed to the Moosehead Lake Kiwanis Club, PO Box 365, Greenville, ME 04441.
