Three with local ties run in Boston Marathon

BOSTON — There were more than 30,000 runners participating in the 2013 Boston Marathon, a

race that starts in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, and ends 26.2 miles later on Boylston Street in Boston. Three finishers with local connections took part on Monday, April 15.

Penquis Valley High School graduate Thomas Harvey of Westbrook crossed the finish line in 364th place with a time of 2 hours, 36 minutes, and 19 seconds. 

Milo’s Rico Portalatin finished in 550th with a time of 2:39:11.

Foxcroft Academy history teacher Brett Almasi of Dover-Foxcroft placed 1,424th with his time of 2:47.37.
