PCHS honor parts
GUILFORD — Piscataquis Community High School announces the top academic honors for the Class of 2023.
The Valedictorian is Emma Calnan, the daughter of Kylee Coburn of Parkman and Marc Calnan of Dexter. Emma has been a member of Student Council as the vice president, JMG, National Honor Society, Olympia’s Leaders, yearbook, band, chorus, and is a highest honor roll student. She has also been very involved with Center Theatre, as she has performed in many plays there and served as the high school member on the board of directors. Emma loves singing, reading, and her family and friends. She will be attending Husson University, majoring in nursing.
Salutatorian 1 is Samantha Goodwin, the daughter of Tanya and Walter Goodwin of Guilford. Samantha has been a member of NHS as the president, Student Council as the class representative, yearbook as the editor, Pirate volunteer, Lincoln Douglas Debate, and more. She is a highest honor roll student and multiple-sport varsity athlete. Samantha enjoys giving back to her community with 300-plus hours of community service and plans to attend Kennebec Valley Community College in the fall.
Salutatorian 2 is Kendall Kimball, the daughter of Kamron and Julie Kimball of Parkman. Kendall has been a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Pirate Volunteer Club, Debate Club, and Positive Action Team, is a highest honor roll student, and is a four-sport varsity athlete. She finds joy in traveling, hunting, and spending time with her family. Kendall will be attending the University of South Florida double majoring in English and biomedical studies.
