BSB DONATION — Angela Bonacasa (left), Center Theatre executive director, receives $2,500 from Marilyn Hartford, Dover-Foxcroft branch manager of Bangor Savings Bank.

The grant will be used to create a fall theatrical education program at the Center Theatre for the Performing Arts. “The Theatre has always been involved in education through our Summer Drama Camp and other opportunities over the years,” said Angela Bonacasa, executive director of the Center Theatre. “But we have never had a dedicated fall education program. Through the generous support of the Bangor Savings Bank Foundation we can now make it a reality for our community.“
Bonacasa said the details of the program are still being finalized, but she expects that it will offer a range of theatrical education opportunities for different ages and experience levels. While a fee will be charged for the classes, Bonacasa also emphasized that scholarships will be available for kids that need assistance.
“Part of the support from the Bangor Savings Bank Foundation will go towards providing scholarships for kids who would benefit from the program, but aren’t able to afford the classes,” she said. Bonacasa added that information on the classes and registration forms will be available in the late summer.
The Center Theatre is a non-profit performing arts center in Dover-Foxcroft with a mission of bringing arts, culture, and entertainment to central Maine. More information can be found at www.CenterTheatre.org.
