Miss Maple trio crowned at 135th Piscataquis Valley Fair
DOVER-FOXCROFT — Three girls will reign as Miss Maple in three respective age groups for the next year after being crowned during the seventh annual Miss Maple Pageant on Saturday morning, Aug. 27, at the 135th Piscataquis Valley Fair.

Charlotte Reynolds, 6, who is about to start first grade at the SeDoMoCha Elementary School in Dover-Foxcroft, earned top honors in the youngest “Mini Miss Maple” division for entrants in kindergarten to grade four. Reynolds earned the same crown one year prior.
Courtney Gould, 13, who is a homeschooled eighth-grader, was the winner in the “Little Miss Maple” class for entrants in the middle age group.
Finishing first among the older girls to receive the title of “Miss Maple” was Chrsyshal Atwater, a 16-year-old junior.
Stella Foley, 6, and a first-grade student, was the Mini Miss Maple runner-up. Gwendolyn Atwater, 13, and an eighth-grader at SeDoMoCha Middle School, placed second among Little Miss Maple contestants. Grace Leavitt, 16, and a junior at Foxcroft Academy, is the Miss Maple runner-up.
The three respective second-place finishers earned $25 apiece. The trio of Miss Maple age group winners each were presented $50 along with a crown and a sash.
The 2022 edition of the Miss Maple Pageant featured 15 girls taking part, who first introduced themselves gathered by the Bear’s Den Maine Stage dressed in their country wear while the emcee said what each of their favorite colors were.
Next up was the talent portion as the girls’ skills included singing, dancing, creating art on canvas, reading aloud an original poem and gymnastics.
The 2022 Miss Maple Pageant was sponsored by Bob’s Sugar House, Bear’s Den Motel, Restaurant & Tavern and Guilford Service Center.
