County’s United Bikers of Maine ride for juvenile diabetes

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis County United Bikers of Maine held a juvenile diabetes motorcycle ride on Saturday, June 7. Nineteen bikes (consisting of 25 people) rode to Castine for lunch.

JUVENILE DIABETES RIDE — The Piscataquis County United Bikers of Maine (UBM) presented two $475 checks, from proceeds raised during the June 7 juvenile diabetes ride to Castine, during the June 16 meeting at the Bear’s Den. From left are Samantha Greenlaw of Sebec (pictured with her daughter Emily) whose son Luke the UBM rode for, Piscataquis County UBM County Director Jon Prescott and Jody Annis, RN, BSN of the Mayo Regional Hospital Diabetes and Nutrition Center which received the other ride check.

    A total of $950 was collected through T-shirt sales and donations from the ride. The money was raised for the diabetes program at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft and the Greenlaw family from Sebec. A pair of $475 checks were presented by Jon Prescott, county director of Piscataquis County UBM, to Jody Annis, RN, BSN of the Mayo Regional Hospital Diabetes and Nutrition Center and Samantha Greenlaw at the monthly UBM meeting on June 16 at the Bear’s Den.
    The next charity ride will be Saturday, July 12 (rain date is Sunday, July 13). This ride will benefit several individuals in Piscataquis County who are battling cancer.
