2014 River Festival theme will be ‘Duck Dynasty’

GUILFORD — The 2014 River Festival will be held Saturday, July 26 in Guilford along the Piscataquis River at the ball park.
Since the “Redneck” theme was so popular last year, the committee decided to “recycle” that idea and give it a fresh name. This year’s theme is “Duck Dynasty.” There will be plenty of fun redneck antics along with plastic ducks that race down the river.

Early plans are in place for a parade with decorated floats, live music on stage, delicious food and interesting craft vendors.
There will be a water slide bounce house as well as a dry one.  Organizers anticipate a lively duck race as the water level in the river should be high and fast-moving after such a long winter. They are also planning a spectacular fireworks display to cap off the evening.
If you are interested in having a booth, volunteering some time or sponsoring the fireworks show, please contact Carrie Fellows at c_fellows@msn.com or 717-5271. Watch for more details later this month.
