Smith finishes freshman year at Norwich

    NORTHFIELD, Vt. — Dover-Foxcroft resident Kaleb Smith, a 2013 graduate of Foxcroft Academy, has recently finished his freshman season on the Norwich University baseball team.

    A right-handed pitcher/first baseman, Smith appeared in four games and 6.1 innings on the mound with one start. Smith compiled an ERA of 4.26 with 10 hits, three earned runs, two walks and a strikeout. Smith made five appearances at the plate, drawing a walk in one of the at-bats.
    Smith is a private in Norwich’s Corps of Cadets and he is majoring in management. Smith is the son of Blake and Stephanie Smith.
    Norwich finished 2014 with a record of 7-16, going 4-10 in Great Northeast Atlantic Conference play. The Cadets qualified for the postseason, falling 4-0 to Lasell College in quarterfinal held in Boston.
