FA’s Kingsbury, Reed place in high jump at state championship

GORHAM – Foxcroft Academy sophomore Jack Kingsbury and senior Jacob Reed both placed in the high jump at the 2022 Class B indoor track and field championship on Monday evening at the University of Southern Maine.

Kingsbury cleared the bar at 5 feet, 8 inches to finish in fifth place. Reed also jumped 5-08, placing sixth on jumps.

Kingsbury and Reed combined for the five Foxcroft points as the Ponies finished 24th among 28 schools picking up points at the state meet.

Foxcroft freshman Runner Jarrett placed 12th in the 2-mile, running a time of 11 minutes, 23.70 seconds.

York High School claimed the boys championship with a score of 64.50 points, the program’s third straight title and seventh in 10 seasons. Bucksport High School finished second with 54 points, followed by 45 for Old Town High School.

Greely High School of Cumberland claimed the girls’ Class B championship by scoring 70 points, just ahead of the 67 for runner-up York. Cony High School of Augusta was third with 37 points.
