Smith competes at New England outdoor track championship
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — Foxcroft Academy sophomore Hunter Smith was among the contingent of athletes from six states taking part in the 69th annual New England Scholastic Outdoor Track and Field Championship on June 14 at Bridgewater State University.

JUMPING IN MASSACHUSETTS — After finishing first in the high jump and third in the triple jump at the Class C championship (pictured), Foxcroft Academy sophomore Hunter Smith qualified in both events for the New England championship June 14 in Bridgewater, Mass.
Smith finished 19th in the triple jump, with a distance of 39 feet, 4.5 inches. He was the only sophomore among the 23 entrants in the boys’ triple jump.
Placing first was junior Kurt Robakiewicz of Nipmuc Regional High School in Upton, Mass. in 46-08.75.
Smith, who qualified for the meet after placing third in the triple jump and first in the high jump at the Class C championship the week before, tied for 13th in the high jump. Smith and five others had no height in the event, with the top 12 all clearing six feet.
Repeating as the New England high jump champion, at 6-foot-9 in 2014, was senior Adam Couitt of Somerset Berkerly Regional High School in Somerset, Mass.
