Local athletes honored for play on the diamond

    Ten baseball and softball players from the area received all-conference recognition from the Penobscot Valley Conference (PVC).
    Foxcroft Academy’s Hunter Law and Abe Simpson were named to the Class B First Team in baseball.
    Emily Higgins of Foxcroft was chosen for the Class B First Team in softball.

    Class C baseball honorees include both Daytona Gould of Dexter Regional High School and Penquis Valley High School’s Trevor Lyford on the First Team. Colton Larrabee of Penquis was named to the Class C Second Team.
    Earning Class C All-Academic recognition was Trevor Fogarty and Dustin Sirabella of Dexter and PCHS’ Spencer Martell.
    Players named to the Class C Second Team in softball include Abbey Jordan, Macie Melvin and Christie Nicholas of Dexter and Alex Speed of Piscataquis Community High School.
    Class C softball All-Academic honorees are Emma Wing of Dexter and Courtney Richardson of PCHS.
