Stroud transferring from UMaine to Husson University

BANGOR — Former Foxcroft Academy quarterback Ryan Stroud, who helped the Ponies win the 2009 Class C East Championship on the way to being named a Fitzpatrick Trophy semifinalist, will be transferring from Football Championship Subdivision University of Maine to Div. III Husson University, as reported by WABI during the station’s Feb. 8 broadcast.

Stroud, who redshirted during his first season as a Black Bear and then was a backup for the next two season, will have a pair of seasons of eligibility left to play for Husson. The Eagles’ 2012 starting quarterback Kash Keezer, who played his high school football for Foxcroft’s LTC rival Orono, will graduate and the team is scheduled to return two backup signal callers in the fall who combined for just 10 pass attempts during the 2012 season.

Stroud appeared in two games for the Black Bears this past season, recording a tackle.

A 2010 graduate of Foxcroft Academy, Stroud is the son of Debbie and Mark Stroud.
