TWO OF THE BLANKETEERS — Gerry Badger, left and Geneva Eastman were two of the Project Linus blanketeers hard at work during the April 26 session at the Penquis Higher Education Center in Dover-Foxcroft. Blankets are made to given to children going through difficult times.

There were  63 blanketeers finishing over 200 blankets, which  will be given to children who are going through a difficult time, such as a loss of a close relative, deployment of a parent or serious illness of a child. Blankets are also distributed to local hospitals to share with children visiting the emergency department or facing surgery.
Blankets must be homemade and they can be made of yarn, fleece or cotton — any fabric that is bright and cheery for children and must be washable. All sizes are welcome, blankets go to children from birth to age 18. This year’s blanketeers range in age from 6 to 95.
