State president visits GFWC/Miosac Club

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — The GFWC/Miosac Club hosted a reception to honor GFWC Maine President Anne Cress on April 26 at the United Methodist Church of Dover-Foxcroft. Her term will end on May 9 following the GFWC Spring Convention.

    GFWC PRESIDENT’S VISIT — Maine President Anne Cress enjoys a local reception.

    Members of all Maine Federation of Women’s clubs were invited to attend and the following clubs were represented at the reception: GFWC Westbrook Women’s Club, GFWC Skowhegan Women’s Club, GFWC Livermore Falls Women’s Club, GFWC Dexter Women’s Literary Club, GFWC Pittsfield Arts Club, GFWC Newport Women’s Club, GFWC Cosmopolitan Club of Dover-Foxcroft, GFWC Lubec Women’s Club, GFWC Outlook Club of Hartland GFWC Southern Midcoast Women’s Club of Brunswick and member-at-large Alida Coates and Don of Orono
    Minnie McCormick read a poem “You” and presented a framed copy to Anne. Vicki Moschella and McCormick led the singing of several special songs. Marge Goodwin accompanied all to sing the Federation Song “Let There Be Peace.”
    Gifts were presented and members enjoyed the special cake and the fellowship.
