Pair of fundraisers will benefit Pine Tree Hospice

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Pine Tree Hospice just celebrated National Volunteer Week. The support and education we provide to our neighbors with progressive, life-limiting illnesses, caregivers and the bereaved would not be possible without the volunteers who serve as members of the board, on committees to guide programming or the direct care volunteers who provide respite, companionship or securing resources such as food. And with a brand-new class of direct care volunteers graduated this month, Pine Tree Hospice is ready to serve more families.

Support from the community is necessary, too. Because Pine Tree Hospice is funded 100 percent by donations, grants and fundraising, we are always looking for ways to raise money and have fun while doing it.

From May 1-15 Pine Tree Hospice will hold its first-ever bottle drive. Bag up your returnables, bring them to the Dover-Foxcroft Redemption Center, designate that the proceeds go to Pine Tree Hospice and enter to win a $50 gift certificate to Bob’s Farm, Home, and Garden. One entry per person. If you need pickup, call Pine Tree Hospice at 207-802-8078 to schedule for either May 7 or May 8. This fundraiser will help Pine Tree Hospice to continue to provide vital community education and outreach, caregiver support and assistance to those individuals who need us.

You can support Pine Tree Hospice throughout the year when you request that the proceeds of your returnables go to Pine Tree Hospice. You can also designate Pine Tree Hospice as your charity of choice on Amazon Smile. At no cost to you, Amazon Smile will donate a portion of sales to Pine Tree Hospice each time you shop.

For more information on either the bottle drive or Amazon Smile, contact us at 207-802-8078 or email info@pinetreehospice.org.
