Maine Highlands FCU donates to Milo Ecumenical Food Cupboard

Even though it was a difficult year for fundraising in 2020, Maine Highlands FCU was able to raise over $17,000 for the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger.  Because of our employees’ efforts, 21 local area food organizations benefitted. “We had to get creative with our fundraising because holding events and selling raffle tickets was impossible last year.” commented Diane Parola, VP of marketing. “Our employees rose to the task. Although our goal of $22,000 wasn’t reached, it was still a great effort by everyone and we are happy that so many local food organizations will benefit.”

Maine Highlands FCU has been raising funds for Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger since its inception in 1990. Along with the employees, the Credit Union attributes the generosity of its members to this surprisingly successful year, given the challenges of a pandemic.
