Free children’s book exchange Saturday

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — Jack Does That, an Hour Exchange based in central Maine, is hosting a free children’s book exchange that is open to the general public. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Dover-Foxcroft Municipal Gym (the old Morton Avenue School gym). Anyone is welcome to bring children’s books that they aren’t using and exchange them for “new to them” books.

    “The idea of a children’s book exchange is a perfect match for the work of Jack Does Thats” said Patrick Myers, the coordinator for Jack Does That. “At Jack Does That our members exchange skills and services cash-free, so why not encourage the community to exchange children’s books too.”
    Jack Does That started in July of 2013 and currently has 72 members who have exchanged over 450 hours. Anyone who wants more information about Jack Does That can come to the book exchange at 3 p.m. for an orientation. “At the orientation new members or potential members learn all about the Hour Exchange, how it works, and earn their first hour along the way,” Myers said.
