    SANGERVILLE – Frances I. Fairman Spear, age 80, passed away suddenly at her home, on March 30, 2014. Frances was born in Ely, Nevada, on August 18, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Bud and Esther Fairman of Ketchum, Idaho, where she grew up.
    She is survived by her four children; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; as well as many other special family and friends.
    As a foster grandparent, grammy Frances loved working with the children at Piscataquis Community Elementary School. She was also an avid, talented knitter who enjoyed her knitting groups and the friends she had there. In past years, she was active in the Standardbred horse community.
    In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Standardbred Pleasure Horse Organization of Maine in her name. Funeral services will be held privately with the family, as was her wish.
