DEXTER — The Dexter Police Department executed a search warrant at a McFarland Street residence on March 12 and arrested Gregory Bohan, 50, on drug trafficking charges.
Chief Kevin Wintle said that the search uncovered “a little more than a half-pound of processed marijuana, several marijuana plants, a ‘grow light’ system and numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia.”

Wintle said that forced entry wasn’t necessary in the search since the door to Bohan’s home was unlocked. Bohan was charged with trafficking in Scheduled Z drugs, but other charges may be pending, said the chief.
Bohan was able to post bail, and has a court appearance set for April 16 in Newport District Court.
Officers at the scene were Lt. Alan Grinnell, Allen Emerson, Dana Gatcomb and Scott Jones.
While at the scene of the drug bust, Emerson also arrested a male subject who drove up to Bohan’s residence while the investigation was underway.
Lee Carnes, 34, of Dexter, was charged with operating under the influence and will also be making his court appearance in Newport on April 16.
