GFWC/Miosac Club news

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — Winter weather has kept the GFWC/Miosac Club from meeting much this winter.  Three meetings have been canceled. 
    At the Jan. 21 meeting fundraising ideas were presented. A summer yard sale was tentatively voted on for summer. Other ideas will be presented at a later meeting. Members signed get well and sympathy cards for Minnie McCormick on the loss of her sister Jan. 1 and her hip surgery Jan. 7.

    Feb. 4 was craft night but with small attendance due to the weather, members just chatted about upcoming events. Carol Kilpatrick presented her idea  of a community business directory — more information is forthcoming. Roxy McGlauflin, Ice Out chairman with Brenda Quiet, presented members with tickets to sell until the end of March, For tickets call 564-2067 or 564-2660. Monies will be used for many projects.
    Members are working on the annual High School Art Contest. It is scheduled for March 23 to be held at the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church. Schools from Greenville, Guilford, Dover-Foxcroft and Milo are invited to enter the contest. Winning art work will go the District 3 contest. Those winners will go to the GFWC Maine Spring Convention for further judging. The No. 1 painting will go to International GFWC Convention.
    The next meeting is scheduled for March 4 with Barb Austin and Diane Leighton as hostesses. Jack Clukey is expected to be the speaker.
