The award, which was established by the Maine Principals’ Association in 1984, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic excellence, outstanding school citizenship and leadership.

Keane is the Student Council president, the senior class president, and a member of Latin Club, Key Club and National Honor Society. He has excelled for the soccer, basketball and tennis teams since he was a freshman. His academic interests include writing, chemistry and biology, and he plans to study chemical engineering in college.
“Sam truly epitomizes the MPA’s Leadership/Scholarship award on all accounts,” said Foxcroft Academy Head of School Arnold Shorey. “Foxcroft Academy is fortunate to have a young man of this caliber as a role model for all.”
